Summary

One word fluttered in my head all throughout reading this book and that was was perfection。 This story doesnt sound like it was written by a human。 Its truly outerworldy。 A amazing read

I don't feel like I can judge this one fairly as I listened to it on Audible instead of reading the book。 I don't feel like I can judge this one fairly as I listened to it on Audible instead of reading the book。 。。。more

4。5/5W。 O。 W。 What a beautiful, heartwrenching, enchanting story。 Addie LaRue is truly an unforgettable character, tragic and yet unyielding to her fate。 Wonderfully written with the exception of some repetitive phrases and words。

What would life be like if no one remembers you? This thought provoking book asks that question。 Adeline LaRue lives 300+ years that way, after making a “deal” with the gods that only answer after dark。 Then one day, someone remembers her。 Why? Recommend, especially if you enjoy fantasy。

the concept and idea is SO GOOD but the book was just… boring。 there were parts that were good and especially the ending😩 but i found it almost tedious。 this would get a four stars just because of the ending but the rest of the book was a 3。

esta muuuuy sobrevalorado

Francesca

I was confused at the beginning but then around page 200 it’s started to pick up the pace and began to get really interesting。

Debbie

Haunting book。

“that is the thing about living in the present, and only the present, it is a run-on sentence。 and henry was a perfect pause in the story。 a chance to catch her breath…” stfuuuuuuu rn bc this book was everything and more。 broke my heart a million times :’( so amped to read more of V。E Schwab’s books!!!

Andrea

Felt it was a little longer than it needed to be but that ending was just… chef’s kiss。

4。5 de cabezaSi algunas partes hubiesen sido más breves, sería un 5/5 No entiendo cómo hay gente que dice que no pasa nada en el libro。。。

This was gorgeous! I enjoyed both the premise of the story and the characters, but overall I felt that the book lacked the sort of propulsive energy I generally look for in novels (which really comes down to more of a personal preference than an actual critique)。

Wow! I don’t know how to describe how amazing this novel is。 I was sucked in immediately and never lost interest。I listened to the audiobook version, and the narrator did a fantastic job。

Loved this book! I love all the nostalgia built with 300 hundred years and the relationship between her and the darkness。 I did find some chapters super annoying。 The author shoved in our faces the homosexuality of the characters which I saw no purpose。 It was like the author was screaming, “ he likes men and women!” “She’s been with men and women too!” “This character is lesbian too!” It was so unnecessary and I was literally annoyed。 Also mentioned that one of the characters was in a threesome Loved this book! That was the only negative I had to say。 Other than that, if you like history and looking back into the past, you’d like this book! I found it so intriguing! 。。。more

3。5There are not too many romance novels that I really love, typically I find them to just be too corny or cringey。 There were moments in the book where I found myself rolling my eyes a bit (how many times do we have to be reminded of Addie’s 7 freckles?) but all in all it was an interesting and entertaining story。 I enjoyed the modern take on the whole a-god-falls-in-love-with-a-mortal storyline, but some of the most cringey writing was found in the dialogue between and descriptions of Luke and 3。5There are not too many romance novels that I really love, typically I find them to just be too corny or cringey。 There were moments in the book where I found myself rolling my eyes a bit (how many times do we have to be reminded of Addie’s 7 freckles?) but all in all it was an interesting and entertaining story。 I enjoyed the modern take on the whole a-god-falls-in-love-with-a-mortal storyline, but some of the most cringey writing was found in the dialogue between and descriptions of Luke and Addie (tell me ONE more time how perfect their bodies fit together)。I recommend this book if you’re looking for something fantasy-lite, something fun to get lost in, something that you don’t need to take too seriously。 It checked all those boxes for me, and I really don’t mean to sound negative about this book。 It’s good, not great (to me), but give it a try!Listened to the audio book version, and I’m glad I did。 It was a good book to have playing while I did chores, gardening, walking, etc。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 i've never picked up any of v。e。 schwab's book before。 im not sure if i regret it or not。 the invisible life of addie larue made my feel。 i felt in love with the story she told me。 the story of ordinery woman, who wanted more。 henry strauss is probably one of my favorite comfort characters。 the ending did not hurt。 it literally shattered me inside and left just broken pieces。 the angst, the love and the hate。 i do not want this story to end, but i will not pray to gods, who answer after dark, fo i've never picked up any of v。e。 schwab's book before。 im not sure if i regret it or not。 the invisible life of addie larue made my feel。 i felt in love with the story she told me。 the story of ordinery woman, who wanted more。 henry strauss is probably one of my favorite comfort characters。 the ending did not hurt。 it literally shattered me inside and left just broken pieces。 the angst, the love and the hate。 i do not want this story to end, but i will not pray to gods, who answer after dark, for more of addie, henry and luc。 but i know it definitely took part of me。 the writing style is everything i have ever needed。 i want to read her other books asap! overall, as the back of the book says, it's a story you will not forget。 。。。more

What?! It took me 2 days? I would say 3。 V。E Schwab is brilliant, this book is so thought thru down to every detail。 From the cover, to the story, to the lay out- to everything。 Although I did debate rating it a 4 because I kind of had to force myself to read it sometime because It could get a little boring when it was in the 1600’s。 With that said, I want to live as Addie does。 This book is now destroyed with my annotating and my shaky ass hands trying to underline everything。 This book was gre What?! It took me over 6 months to read this book。 I ended up listening to the audio, just to get it over with。 I found it incredibly boring all the way through。 I understand I’m in the minority here。
